Version T14 is now out!
This is a pretty good week with some decent progress.
Let me start on why this time the devlog is on Friday instead of Thursday. That’s because we had an electricity outage for nearly all of Wednesday ,it was really cold out here in Canada. Since I couldn't work that day aside from paper notes, I decided to push it back as too much was unfinished, hope yall don’t mind.
Despite that though, this week we all need to cheer as R.F.P.T our fellow robot is now back and he’s not alone ! He won’t appear in the station as default, because this week I’ve been working on the friend creation mechanic, which is still it’s in infancy so expect changes, but we now have a new workstation that you’ll need to craft and then you’ll be able to use it to craft some friends. Mind you the friend rework isn’t finished though, so expect bugs missing features. As of right now sadly friends aren’t saved, so as soon as you exit a room after making a friend they’ll disappear for ever, I’ll fix this for next week.
To craft that new station you’ll need glass though, which can be found in the brand new Hole system. Each planets have holes on them which you can investigate and each planet have different loot that they can give. This will help a lot in the future as it’s a good way to get different resources and don’t require too much art to do so, expect this to eventually have a mini-game like mining does.
Anyhow hope you’ll all appreciate those changes, adding the friend crafting mechanic definitely gives more life to the game and makes it look more like my original vision but it’s still isn’t finished, so for version T15 I need to continue working on this, save npcs so they don’t vanish, probably some simple pathfinding as well as the ability to switch room.
Slowly but surely the game is growing.
